Quarter 3 - Lesson 8: On the Sun and the Moon - Intermediate Level Studies - Part 3
This third in a series of intermediate level lectures on the Sun and Moon is founded on the principles of Morin but comes from lessons taught by the late Zoltan Mason of New York.
Our focus is on the New and Full Moon, that is the conjunction and the opposition of the Lights and how this configuration of the Lights relates to the topic of motivation.
Zoltan Mason taught that astrology is the study of motivation and we as students should be able to detect its strength and depth in a horoscope. The Lights as potentiators of behavior contribute greatly to our understanding of motivation in a chart.
This lesson concentrates on the astrological factors contributing to the New and Full Moon's dramatic impact on motivation. We will consider the New and Full Moon in terms: 1) Male versus Female signs, 2) Quadruplicity 3) Triplicity, and 4) Placement above or below the horizon.
Using a number of examples, we then consider the placement of the Sun and Moon using a diagram that depicts and explains the importance of their position relative to the chart partitioned into four quadrants.
Please Note: We will use the same slide set for next week's lesson 9
