Quarter 4 - Lesson 9: The Ascendant and MC as the Primary Significators of Human Destiny - Part 2
We again focus on the importance of the Ascendant, Midheaven, Moon, and Sun as the fundamental and critical factors conditioning a human being's destiny but this time pay we particular attention to the pivotal importance of the Ascendant itself.
And again, Morin establishes the supremacy of the Ascendant among the aforementioned four significators when he again unequivocally states that, "…the Ascendant has a more powerful significance for the life and person of the native than the ruler of the Ascendant or a Planet in the first House", and "… Moreover, the aspects received by the Ascendant itself are in this connection more powerful and significant than those received by the ruler of the Ascendant."
We examine this assertion using the charts of four individuals, all with Libra rising, Moon in Aquarius, and the Sun on Sagittarius. We start with an in-depth study of Britney Spears, the pop star princess of popular music who is currently undergoing a number of personal crises. In particular, we focus on Venus in Capricorn (as ruler of her Ascendant) in her fourth house that receives a square aspect from Saturn in Libra in her First House.
Framed around Morin's axiomatic statement that directs us to determine the strength and quality of Planets in and ruling the First House, we quickly deduce why the above mentioned square aspect plays such a significant part both in her success and as a pivotal contributing factor to her personal problems.
In other words, this aspect illustrates how the same aspect can be good for one area of life and bad for another. After analyzing this important aspect in her chart, we examine how additional charts factors exacerbate this aspect of Saturn to Venus.
Morin stated and Zoltan Mason echoed the value of the above significators as the fundamental factors of a human being's destiny. Consideration of these quickly allows us to differentiate the chart elements that form the basis of the different inborn character traits and life events undergone by these individuals. We illustrate this point again with a consideration of three additional charts, those of a physician, a realtor, and an attorney.
Our next lesson will make use of the same four examples, but we will demonstrate the definition of Astrology as the study of motivation and drive by showing how Morin provides us with rules that allow us to determine the quantitative impact of the various planets that are connected to the Ascendant and the Midheaven.
