Quarter 1 Overview
Program Goals,
Work Habits, and Basic
Skills
The trained astrologer
must be able to answer two questions asked implicitly by every client:
During this lifetime, What may I expect and When?
Answering these two questions requires that you are able to detect
the person's motivations and drives.
And that is the goal of our program - Furnish you with the requisite
training and work habits to uncover the horoscope's purpose and satisfy
your client's inquires.
To that
end, our Program addresses four specific areas
-
Provide techniques that permit
gaining a feeling for Signs and Planets based on one's life experience,
-
Illustrate a
structured systematic approach to delineation,
-
Inculcate solid practical work
habits, i.e. provide ways to prioritize, simplify, and economize one's
thinking,
-
Introduce a methodology that
promotes synthesis, i.e. Seeing the chart as a unit
Methodology: The contributions of Morin and Mason
The approach to grasping the chart as
an integrated whole is based on the tradition engendered and
systematized by the brilliant 17th century reformer of
astrology, Morin de Villefranche.
Morin's method of horoscope
delineation, which permits viewing the chart as a whole living
unit, was superbly practiced, successfully taught, and brilliantly enlarged
upon most recently by the late Zoltan Mason of New York for almost seventy years.
And that is our goal at ForumOnAstrology. We teach the technique and perhaps
as important the development of good work habits that are such a vital complement
to that technique... and without which the student will never acquire
the most important skill needed to seeing the chart as a living
whole… Chart Synthesis. It is the ability to synthesize that animates or makes
the horoscope come alive. Without this ability, the chart remain forever
lifeless.
To guide you towards the goal of synthesis, Quarter 1 introduces an
orderly structural framework for chart analysis, fundamental astrological
concepts, and sensitivity techniques. Specifically:

The Art of Interpretation based on the ability to Synthesize
To interpret, you must be able to synthesize, that means all of your observations
or inferences about a particular chart must flash together as a single image in
an instant. The only way to accomplish this goal of horoscope synthesis is the
develop the skills that lead to good habits and process, skills that form the
basis of our training program.
